New Mexico

Recently I went to NM to visit Scott, Alisa and Kinsey and had a great time. I wish I had more pictures of Scott and Alisa, but Kinsey is so darn cute, that's where the camera went! I'm amazed at how much she looks like Scott did when he was this age. In fact, I have a newspaper clipping of my one year old picture and it looks very much like this one of Kinsey! We had fun just hanging out, going to the park and working on the walking skills. This pic shows a girl after my own heart... I love the swings.

We took the day Saturday to drive to Carlsbad Caverns in southern NM to hike through two of the big hikes there. Here we are ready to enter through the Natural Entrance...how the caves were originally found...and hike down 750 feet into the bowels of the earth to get to the Big Room. (Alisa really did not like that description!)

Bye sunlight...see ya again in about 3 hours!!

This place is HUGE. We went through the main Big room, about two football fields in size, but there are about a dozen other tours through other caves and areas. It's simply amazing and totally different from Timp caves.

So much fun. Can't wait to go back and actually try some of the smaller tours. The return of the bats in the bat cave is NOT on my list!

Thanks Alisa and Scott for having us hang out for a while. We loved the time we spent with you, and this Kinsey girl is simply precious!
